Author Jason Collins continues to gather a large following of readers, both for his series as well as his standalone novels. FLYING FEARLESS is a very fine example of how strong he writes – a novel that not only satisfies those who expect steamy romance, but also those who seek a psychological drama as the underpinning. This is the second volume of his new Lottery Winners series and explores our ongoing fascination with that ‘once in a lifetime’ chance of purchasing the winning lottery ticket to end our stress!Interesting characters are a specialty of Jason’s, and he offers a quick glimpse at one of the primary roles - Lucas - as he opens his novel: ‘Sitting in Starbucks, a milkshake disguised as a coffee on the table in front of me, I tried not to fidget. First, the premise of three friends winning a huge lottery and then doing something personally and individually important with his winnings is like a breath of fresh air when it comes to the plot of the books of this series. Craig is forced into Lucas' close proximity especially in the cockpit, but what I found interesting is how each guy is still attracted to each other even though some personality traits of the other drive him crazy. Lucas doesn't like the way Craig is teaching him to operate the airplane, yet Craig must feel that Lucas' response to his training comes across as a bit immature and heedless of the element of safety. Craig is a stickler for perfection, and Lucas' is much more laid back. The plot of Flying Fearless is fun and entertaining. The main characters are very well developed and realistically portrayed in the novel. The secondary characters, especially Leo and Fenton, help Lucas to see what he's missing in life… someone to be beside him, to teach him… and to cherish him. An awesome book!! Highly recommended!! 5 stars! I read an advance reader's copy of this book, and am leaving my honest and unbiased opinion of it.
